Default blue screen start up error since tried Dell OS recoverry cd creati

Hi

I decided to create a backup of my system for the first time as follows:
Xp was already installed on my pc so i didnt have a cd to retrieve the
'backup' facility, so I tried to create the 'dell OS Recovery CD' by going to
Programsdell accessoriesdell os recovery cd, this took ages and ended in an
error saying something about not enough space. Fair enough I have now read
more about backing up & am getting an external drive instead.
But since then everytime I boot up my laptop I get a blue windows page saying:

"Checking file system on C:
the type of the file system is NFTS
Can't open volume for direct access
windows has finished checking the disk"

it clears after say a minute and completes start up as normal.

I have since downloaded the xp backup program from
http://home.comcaast.net/~cerelli/ntbackup.msi which caused no probs.

Before all this I downloaded registry booster, which i have now stopped it
scanning but think I will uninstall it until after i have created a backup.

I hope you are able to follow this, I am running XP home edition on an
Inspiron 1300 laptop and the only real changes i have made recently are those
above

can anyone help?

thanks for reading

Rhi
