Default Winamp 5.541

I updated to 5.54?, and it works fine. Upon use, it shows a window saying
Winamp 5.541 is available and a download now butto. It doesn't seem possible
to get rid of the window when I fire up winamp. What's up with that? I tried
downloading it, but not installing it. It still appears. There are no
right-click options.

This is not a Windows issue. Ask in Winamp forums or look on their tech
support site.

Your question does NOT belong here. Yeah, you're OS is Vista, so
what!?

Just a stab, but winamp is detecting you have 5.4 and 5.41 is not
installed. You probably need to install the download to make it see
that you've upgraded. You can't just download it, that serves no
purpose except to consume hard drive space.

And there is a check box in options (at least in my 5.0x) for "check for
new updates on startup". You could uncheck that too.

I was referring to English, not Texan.

Strange. We had a power outage, and, when I came up, the problem his gone.
Interestingly, I have 5.33 (and not 5.54?--my mistake, memory lapse). Beats
me. It works fine. Done.

W. eWatson,

Glad that your problem fixed itself. Sometimes all it needs is a little TLC and a surge to it's brain.
