Default AutoRun/AutoPlay Does Not Work When A CD/DVD Is Inserted

Hi all,

I have an HP dv9005us notebook with XP MCE

In the past when I put a CD in the drive a small window would open which
listed a number of things I could have Windows do. A few days ago I put a CD
in the drive and when the window came up I scrolled down and found the
default was Do Nothing.

I made the error of clicking the box that essentially says Do This Without
Asking. Now I find that nothing happens when I put in a CD(either data or
application). In fact, when I go to My Computer and click on DVD-RAM Drive
E: Windows tells me there's no data or application on the CD. In addition,
when using Search for Drive E: *.* it says there are no results to display.

I've hunted through Settings, Removable Media, etc, but didn't found any way
to correct the problem.

HP help said go he

I checked and found AutoRun and NoDriveTypeAutoRun were enabled.

I would really appreciate help to solve this problem.
