USB devices (HDD or Flash) not shown in XP explorer but show in IE
Hi all,
I am running WinXP sp2. when I plug any usb device in, Windows recognises the device, assigns a driveletter, will allow me to safely remove it etc. However the device will NOT show up in Windows Explorer BUT it DOES show up if i type the drive letter OR 'My Computer' into the address line of IE. (NOTE: if I boot up or LOGIN with the device connected everything is fine...) Does ANYone have a solution for me - (I can put up with it but its driving my family nuts,,,). |

Locate and install TweakUI (part of the unsupported Powertoys for XP) Then, run it and look under section: My Computer --- Drives And make sure the drive letters you wish to show have a checkmark next to them. |
