He hasn't been here in some time.

I hear he's hiding inside the DogAgent server box,
and he's hiding in there with 15 email accounts.
He's a really tiny guy...

I think I'll take one of those Large buttered Popcorn too.
Mmmmm. Delicious.

In the past 5 months a variety of groups on this DogAgent server:-

a. Have been subject to posts by known and previously banned trolls and
undesirable intruders.

b. Some Dogagent users have replied to banned trolls and undesirable
intruders(unaware to whom they were replying)

c. A few Dogagent users have replied to banned trolls and undesirable
intruders(fully aware to whom they were replying.

- this is the worst case( one knew and still replied and most likely
included the trolls original content)

d. Moderators or group owners have requested and/or agreed to
cancellation of post, replies and threads

e. Cancelled replies and threads to prevent propagation of unwelcome =
content

Going forward (Server wide) to protect the integrity and DogAgent
community

Having been given permission by our server owner (Dave H.) to act as his
Regent, with 100% support, the following will occur.

1. Trolls/Intruders posts will be cancelled

2. Replies to post will be cancelled (no need to propagate more garbage
- this applies to both (b) and (c)

3. Threads may be cancelled when necessary to prevent multiple
propagation of said garbage.

4. Items (a,b,c,d, e) are a fact and Items (1,2,3, 4) are not up for
discussion.

ALL the dogagent newsgroups are open to the public. NONE of them

That is not correct.

While I don't personally participate in private groups on the
dogagent server, I 'can tell' that they exist, eg the pizzazz groups.

The Pizzazz group is SECRET! ;-)

When one accesses dogagent w/o user/pass, they only see the public ng/s
in the same manner that one only sees the support ng/s at e-s.

FTR *IS* a participant on the Dogagent groups.

FTR posts on a public dogagent photo group.Â* Perhaps he doesn't know
about the private groups.

That is *NOT* how it works at Dogagent.

The public dogagent groups work like the 'public' (non-reg'd) ng/s at
e-s.Â* The process for acquiring credentials for accessing those private
groups at dogagent is different from acquiring credentials for accessing
the general usenet ng/s at e-s.

Registration is *NOT* required.

There is not a 'registration' process in the same manner as e-s, but
there is a 'credentialling' process to access dogagent's private groups.
Â*For all I know, there may be different credentials for different
private groups.

If you don't have credentials, you don't access them; just like at e-s,
if you don't have credentials, you don't access the usenet groups which
aren't e-s support.

As usual/common for you, you are VERY very off-topic in this Win10
group.Â* This has NOTHING to do w/ win10.

This is about THUNDERBIRD!

Actually, it is about you trying to find out how to run a public-private
news server, which is not about Tb OR Win 10.

Lot's of people using Windows 10 use Thunderbird to read and post on
Usenet!

That does not make your msg content apply to Tb or Win10.

I'd REALLY like to know how many people using Windows 10 ALSO frequent
the newsgroups on the Dogagent.com server

My friend in the USA does NOT see any request for a username/password.

If you access e-s w/o configuring to always authenticate, then you ALSO
won't see any request for credentials, but you will only get a limited
ng list for e-s support.

When the client doesn't see (all) the ng/s on a news server, then they
don't try to access the 'invisible' *private* groups which require
credentials.

Are there any OTHER private servers which provide public newsgroups?

Are there any OTHER private servers which provide PRIVATE newsgroups?

As far as I'm aware, even Annexcafe didn't have PRIVATE groups - did it?!

Your friend in Canada doesn't either.

Didn't they ban you by I.P. Address? Have you tried using a Proxy Server
like Tunnel Bear?

I'm locked out - of all Dogagent PUBLIC groups - *simply on a whim* of
Winston; achieved by the server owner causing my computer to demand a
username and password. I don't know HOW he does that.

I'd never heard of Tunnel Bear until you mentioned it.

If YOU know nothing about any PRIVATE groups, perhaps you are entitled
to be shown a list of such such groups and advice on how to reach them?

Maybe you'll find Ann
