Default removing sounds

I am trying to convince XP to be silent. I have already
specified the 'No Sounds' option through control panel
but, XP still makes a sound whenever I minimize or
maximize a window. Anyone know how to stop this? Anyone
know why this is not covered by 'No sounds'?

Thanks PR

I'd suggest you use the task manager (ctrl alt del) to see what is
running. Perhaps a third party utility comes with sounds for maximize
and minimize.

Other than that, it's back to control panel \ sounds. With "no sounds"
selected, click on apply and okay your way out.

Hello PR,

In Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices | /Sounds\,
in the Program events list, a speaker icon indicates
that a sound is associated with that event.

Have you clicked on each event,
chosen "Sounds: (None)",
and then under "Sound Scheme:" [Save As]

You might want to read "Sound Troubleshooters"
at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_s.htm

Right click the speaker icon, adjust audio properties and under the volume
section, click the advanced button. You'll see a series a sliders and you'll
need to mute the pc speaker option, as that can still beep even if your sound
scheme is set to none.
