Default Unable to change netowrk settings with out disabling the connection first

I have a small network set-up at home. Decied to rebuild
my main pc as it was getting slow.

I put my ghost backup image down onto the machine. I then
configured back some missing software as well as the
conneciton to my Server 2003 active directory domain.
I was at first able to change the network settings for the
card (SMC 1211).

I am now however unable to change the settings with out
first disabling the conecction. The user account does
have admin rights so should be able to change thse setting
no problems. Iam unable to find out what is wrong I can
however see and netowrk drives on my domain but not able
to get access to the internet. I use zone alarm pro 4.5
and have not changed anything on this. since the pc was
rebuilt and since the pc has the same ip inof as the old
build it should work fine but currently does not.

Any help would be greatly recived.

What happens when you try and change the settings?

Nothing it sill does not work. Evey web page I go to
still errors. Since this is using the same setup as the
old one and with the same ip. I do not seem to beale to
understand what is causing the problme. Zone Alarm
should not need to be changed as far as it is concerned it
just the same as the pc.

More details would be good. Also temporarily uninstalling ZoneAlarm would
be a good step.
