i have a worm
Try this tool after reading the directions very carefully:
"W32.Sober Removal Tool" http://securityresponse.symantec.com...val.tool.html. Bear in mind that virus spreaders don't care if their work can be removed cleanly. Before using the removal tool, backup all your important documents, pictures, address book. etc. Rocky "loricoates" wrote in message ... my anti virus soft ware says i have a sober.g worm. i ran a fix and it said it had gotten rid of it....but apparently it's still here...anyone have any ideas...can i ever get rid of this thing? it worries me to have email being sent out that i know nothing about |

You might have got rid of it from the system but it could be resident in the
System Restore files. To delete it from there you have to switch OFF system restore/reboot/switch system restore back on. -- Paul Woodsford Remove ****NOSPAMPLEASE**** to Reply "Rocket J. Paul makes a good point - After you remove a virus you should delete all
restore points, reboot, and create a new restore point. Rocky "Paul Woodsford" paul.woodsford****NOSPAMPLEASE****@***NOSPAM***vi rgin.***NOSPAM***net wrote in message ... Wouldn't it be appropriate to turn the Restore Point
function off BEFORE you use the removal tool? Otherwise, how would you delete the virus/worm from the restore points? -----Original Message----- Paul makes a good point - After you remove a virus you should delete all restore points, reboot, and create a new restore point. Good question. Antivirus software cannot remove a virus from restore
points - the only way to do this is to delete all restore points. Rocky "Wondering" wrote in message ...
