adding and deleting icons on desktop for limited accounts
I have administrative account on my home XP pc. I've set
up a limited acount for my kid, but can't find the option to change icons on desktop under her log in. When I try to delete an icon, I'm told I don't have privledges. How do I log in as me (administrator) and get to her desktop so that I have priledges to change desktop? |

I'm not an expert, but I noticed you did not get a response yet, so I'll
help. You just log in as Administrator, and navigate to her profile (the folder with her user name, under Documents and Settings) using Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer). There's a subfolder in her profile named Desktop and another named Programs (under Start Menu). You should find the shortcuts (icons) there, and remove them from both subfolders. Maybe the reason you did not get a response is because this newsgroup is for security problems. Next time try the WindowsXP.Basics newsgroup for basic problems setting up user accounts. Thanks!. The shortcuts were in All Users, but you gave me
the hint of how to find that, hadn't even tried Windows Explorer. Thanks. -----Original Message----- I'm not an expert, but I noticed you did not get a response yet, so I'll help.
