invalid registry keys

I have been running Norton System Works on my computer for
some time now and every time I do it comes up with
registry errors. The same 18 come up every single time
whether I fix them with Norton WinDoctor or not. Even if
I fix them and rescan right away they come back. I am
afraid to delete the registry key completely, although I
think that would clear the problem. I just don't want to
create a bigger problem. For example here is an invalid
key:
The key, "AWFile\DefaultIcon," refers to a missing
icon, "C:\Program Files\Support.com\backup\mi\misc.exe,6."

The option I usually choose is to change the key so it
is ...misc.exe without the ,6 at the end. It always
reverts back though. Anyone have any ideas at all??

If they're being recreated by the operating system or by some installed =
software, then they probably need to be there. Norton does not always =
know how to interpret what it finds. What it sees as an invalid path to =
a file, may indeed be the way the programmer intended it. I do not, nor =
ever have used Registry cleaners, system "cleaning" tools of any kind, =
and I do NOT encounter types of problems that many users report here.
