XP Pro SP2 networking slow to start
I recently performed a full install of XP Pro SP2 (not an upgrade or a patch)
on my Gateway laptop. When I startup the computer, everything seems to come up fine. As soon as I try to access my wired OR wireless network (with my SMC 802.11b card), I experience a 1-2 minute delay before my network is available. After the delay, everything works fine until I shut down the system. I have reviewed all of my network setings and adjusted them to various outher settings with no avail. Any ideas or suggestions? |

I had similar problems on my network on since xppro sp2 . Yet my win 98
client was fast. I found solution on this page. It did it for me. I had only .25% usage on my lan. Now at over 50% all the time. Hope it helps. www.tweakxp.com/tweak1557.aspx I wanted to contact the guys from Infomax who posted this info and give thanks. |
