In order to install a second copy of Windows XP on the same
computer, you need two things: 1. An empty drive or partition. 2. A second Windows XP license. Please read your End-User License Agreement by going to Start Run and type: WINVER , and hit enter. Then click on "End-User License Agreement". From the Windows XP EULA: 1.1 Installation and use. You may install, use, access, display and run one copy of the Software on a single computer, such as a workstation, terminal or other device ("Workstation Computer"). The Software may not be used by more than two (2) processors at any one time on any single Workstation Computer. A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8. http://www.symantec.com/partitionmagic/ If you already have a retail copy of Windows XP, you can obtain additional licenses for another computer or laptop by visiting the following Microsoft Web site: http://shop.microsoft.com/special/wal/walinfo.asp Cheaper OEM Alternatives: Microsoft Windows XP HOME Edition With Service Pack 2 - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16837102151 Microsoft Windows XP Pro with SP2 Upgrade Software http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Produ...116-192&DEPA=8 Clean Install Windows XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows XP - Shell/User Microsoft Newsgroups Get Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Advanced Security Technologies: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...xp/choose.mspx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Jacky Luk" wrote: | It says xp pro is older than sp2 so installation is not allowed.
