Cari - Do you know how to flush the printer spool file?
The Brother tech rep said that I can't flush print jobs using the printer dialog box because the printer driver has already handed the job off to the spooler, and if the spooler doesn't understand the file, it will cause the printer to print dozens or hundreds of pages with just one line of gibberish. *TimDaniels* "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: See steps 15 thru 17 at: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Terry" redmunds (remove wrote in message ... Print Spooler
I had the same problem with my Brother HL-1230 laser printer for weeks. I
came into the newsgroup, but obviously got a different thread to this one. The advice given was to go to My ComputerC drive Windows folder System32 folder Spool Printers folder. Delete whatever is in the Printers folder (in my case a Gif image which was blank, A string of zeros.SDH file which was empty, and an empty drivers folder) After you have deleted the contents of the Printers folder, come out of there, then go to Control Panel Administrative services scroll down to "Printer Server". Double click to open, and click on "Start" button. Then get out of there, and see if your printer will greet you with a printed page. I have had no trouble since. Good luck. Whoops : made an error. When you go into Control Panel Admin Tools
Services you go to Print Spooler, NOT Printer Server - Sorry. "winifred" wrote: I had the same problem with my Brother HL-1230 laser printer for weeks.
