Windows password and network password
I work on a desktop at work and use a laptop at home to connect to office.
Whenever I change the network password on the desktop, I get a problem logging into the domain from my laptop. It still accepts only the old password for logging in and after I log in the system throws an error that the network credentials are incorrect. After logging into the VPN, I tried to lock the system and then unlock it using the new password, but no luck. How can I remove the cached old password? |

Windows password and network password
I think this isn't so much a cached password issue, as that one machine is a
domain-member, and the otrher is not. On a domain-member machine the domain password will be used to lock the computer. On a standalone computer the password used by screensavers, etc. will be that of the local user-account, even when you connected to the VPN. |

Windows password and network password
I have used the lock and unlock computer with new credentials trick and got
it to work but I do it before I try to access any domain resources. I also use the built in MS client VPN that uses mschapv2. If nothing seems to work you will need to connect your laptop to the domain to refresh the cached credentials. --- Steve "Kameshwari" wrote in message ...
