Printing Error Event ID 1000
Hello,
We have a user that has some serious printing issues. I just reinstalled this computer from scratch and I don't want to do it again, so I am hoping to find a solution to this The printer is attached to a Jetdirect and we have a half-dozen users printing on it, it works fine except for this one person. When I install the printer locally and bind it to a standart tcp/ip printer port, the printer won't even print a test page, the job stays in the queue, the printer freezes, and after a while, you get an error saying the print job could not be completed. Since we use Novell, I installed a shared NDPS printer on that PC. Printer test page works fine. However, any other print jobs works only one time our of 4... When printing from Office or Acrobat documents, the application will crash and generate a dump file. An event ID 1000 message (see below) is written to the event viewer. I have tried the following to fix the problem: - Change printer drivers. Multiiple times. - Try various applications and connections methods. (shared, IP...) - Removed all printer configuration, including purging registry entries and reinstalled all the printers. - Reinstalled Acrobat Reader, removed all add-ons in Office (only mcafee plugins) - Comb the internet for an answer - Banged my head on the wall... Any help is welcomed!
