"loudonchick" wrote in message ... my computer is running slow, what can i do? Lots of things. Take up a new hobby, like boomerang throwing. Remember to do it outdoors. If you mean what can you do to improve your computer's performance, then the first thing would be to defrag it. Right click on Mycomputer, choose Manage. Then select Disk Defragmenter and start that. It might take a while to go through. Your question is not overflowing with detail. Perhaps more RAM would help, or a faster processor. You don't give us any information about your computer. |

Use the restore CD that came with your PC. Turn it off, insert it, follow
the prompts. After its done, uninstall (add/remove programs) all the garbage you don't use. Then, defragment the hard drive. Then, go online and let MS and your antivirus add more crap to it, then defrag again. I ran into one of those today. 350MB installation just to run a HP printer. Owner just uses the printer for simple print jobs consisting of text. Some call it advanced technology. I call it reverse progress. -- Noncompliant Money don't wag the dog's tail. Obviously, you do via some mind meld. Not only is that complete NONSENSE but you also failed to advise the OP to backup all critical data first. What EXACTLY is critical data in regards to this particular user? Oh, mind meld again. Please do NOT post such dangerous twaddle again. Sorry, I did not see your more advanced and accurate response to the question posed by the OP. Where is it? Don't come to the side door and stand at the entrance, get in the kitchen. If you can't take the heat stay out. Which you obviously are doing. And typical users can't find their data if its not where it was as on the original XP menu. -- Noncompliant Money don't wag the dog's tail. |

See my response to the OP where I did in fact give several URLs that address just this problem. And typical users can't find their data if its not where it was as on the original XP menu. What's that got to do with anything? |
