OE6 and message composing - set editor to flat text only ?
Hello All,
I'm (still) running OE6 for my newsgroup reading, and have set it to text-only (for both reading and replying). But somehow the editor in which I compose a reply still accepts font settings and other thingamabling, which happens most every time when I copy-and-paste text from other sources - it makes a mess of my replies formatting. tl;dr: Is there a setting in OE6 somewhere which tells the editor to behave as if it can only handle flat text ? Regards, Rudy Wieser Look at the Send tab of Options. You can choose plain text separately for messages or news under Mail Sending Format or News Sending Format. |

OE6 and message composing - set editor to flat text only ?
Mike,
You can choose plain text separately for messages or news under Mail Sending Format or News Sending Format. As mentioned in my question (first line), I already did that. Its the composing phase of a message which I have problems with. Regardless of those settings, OE6 still seems to accept a "rich text format" paste/drop. Regards, Rudy Wieser |

Regards, Rudy Wieser I don't know if this addresses your problem, but it might, and I've done it for some other similar situations to remove the rich text formatting. Just copy and paste FIRST into Notepad (which removes that rich text formatting stuff), and then copy and paste what is in Notepad into OE. |

OE6 and message composing - set editor to flat text only ?
Bill,
Just copy and paste FIRST into Notepad (which removes that rich text formatting stuff), and then copy and paste what is in Notepad into OE. :-) Yup, thats exactly what I'm currently doing. But I would like to get rid of it. Thanks for the suggestion though. Regards, Rudy Wieser |

OE6 and message composing - set editor to flat text only ?
Paul,
The dates on the web page, suggest he's still working on it. Thanks for that. But to be honest, if throwing software at it is the only way to go than I will probably try to write my own solution first. Maybe even some DLL interception .... Regards, Rudy Wieser |
