I was considering on *maybe* buying Macrium Reflect Premium for it's
extra features, But 2 things stopped me dead in my tracks.

1: Search as I might on the web I cannot find any Canadian resellers,
Not even Amazon,ca or Newegg.ca.

2: looking on the US site the Price is $69.95 usd, translated to
Canadian dollars that is $97.64 cdn.

Much as I like Macrium Reflect I find this way too expensive and will
stick to the free edition.

I know!
Surely they know what they're doing, but one would think their price for
personal use would be less. Maybe they have lots of company users.
Rolling in the dough. Good for them.

Worse in my opinion is uTorrent offering a free version, but you must
pay for a SUBSCRIPTION if you want to buy it.

Kind of expensive especially for a home user. The free version does
all I want to do.

Are you some idiot who can't read the post correctly?Â* He said:

Are you using any of it's extra features?Â*Â* Don't ask me what these
features are because I don't use that crap here.Â* In fact I don't waste
time doing backups when cloud storage does everything for me.

For me the same. I use it for years now on all our systems, and the free
version does all we need. So we stick to the free version.

I paid for Macrium Reflect Home mostly to get the incremental backups.
Those save a lot of disk space for the backup files while giving me
daily scheduled backups (rather than once per week for differentials).
The paid version also includes their Image Guardian which installs a
root-kit style kernel-mode stacked file I/O driver to prevent malware or
even bumbling users from modifying or deleting the backup files (other
than by the Reflect program). You can still read unfettered, but
writing has to be done by the program as well as deleting old backup
files or via retention rules. This adds protection against malware from
encrypting or deleting your backups. Yeah, their price seems high,
mostly because it has lots of features that I don't use.

I bought direct from Macrium. If you're buying just for yourself, cost
is $70/license. You can buy a 4-license pack for $140 which is the
price of 2 licenses but gives you 4, so if you buy for 2 to 4 users
total then get the 4-pack.

Macrium doesn't sell through e-tailers (e.g., Amazon, Newegg). Won't
find it at eBay, either (if it's listed there, it's illegal, a scam, or
something like a book or a different product leeching onto the Macrium
brand). Macrium sells only through Cleverbridge.com, and online seller
service for MANY software products. They do have resellers, but those
are for IT/enterprise sales. Those sales still go through Cleverbridge.

https://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50216.aspx
"Our IT Reseller Partner Programme is for IT software resellers and
offers a number of benefits including a dedicated Partner Portal and
the possibility of additional sales discounts for promoting Macrium
Reflect software to your customer base. Our Partner Portal is operated
in conjunction with trusted eCommerce provider, cleverbridge and
enables you to efficiently provide Macrium Products to your existing
customer base."

I also was looking at Incremental and scheduled backups which would both
be great, But I will continue to do it manually which is not a big
hardship and I have plenty of space as I only keep 5 or 6 copies on hand
and delete the older ones after a month or so.

I would have gladly paid about $49.95 CDN for it but $98.00 CDN is just
too much.

You should also consider Acronis
https://www.acronis.com/en-us/lp/per...SABEgJqR_D_BwE
or https://tinyurl.com/ubpflg8

I've used it for several years and it does all that I can want plus a
whole lot more. Highly regarded.
