Missing desktop tab in display control panel
Hello,
One of our pcs does not have a desktop tab in the display control panel. It's the same even when logged in as admin. I've checked the Turn On Classic Shell setting in the group policy editor and it isn't configured. Does anyone know of any other way the desktop tab might have been disabled? Cheers. |

Missing desktop tab in display control panel
Thanks, but thats not quite it.
The Remove display in control panel policy locks the user out of the control panel completely. Another policy there, Prevent changing wallpaper still shows the desktop tab but grays out all options. The problem I have is that the desktop tab has completely disappeared from the diplay control panel. There is also a 3rd option that could be at fault which is "Turn on Classic Shell" but again it's not configured on this machine. I've filtered the group policies so they only show configured policies and none show up so i'm faily sure its not down to the group policy setup. Maybe a setting in the registry? i don't know. Cheers. -----Original Message----- NoDispBackgroundPage ? http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...nfo/reskit/en- us/default.asp?url=/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en- us/regentry/93254.asp -- Ramesh, Microsoft MVP Windows XP Shell/User http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k Windows 2000 Group Policy Registry Table: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...nfo/reskit/en- us/gp/gpref.asp wrote in message ... No, it does not restrict the Control Panel. Have you tried it?
