Default Compressing Files

I'm running out of free space on my computer, and I have a lot of music,
video and pictures- but i don't want to delete them. Will they take up less
space if I compress them? Songs are all .mp3, video is all .avi, and pictures
are either .jpg or .gif. I dont know if that matters at all but I want to
make sure I will still be able to play them and burn them to CDs/DVDs, etc.
if I compress them... any help or advice would be much appreciated thank
you!!!

Default Compressing Files

They are probably already compressed about as far as they can get. The real
solution is to get a second hard drive and add it to your PC.

as i know, you can compress video files by converting them into another format. for example there's a program called VidLogo at geovid.com, i knew out about it not a long time ago. it adds logos and watermarks to the video and is able to convert video formats. so i'd like to advise to you to try it
