I downloaded IE7 yesterday & suddenly had many problems getting online plus others. I called microsoft on the"no charge" line & after doing some tests was told "IE7 has some issues with Webroot & Norton. It was suggested I uninstall them to correct the problem but I uninstalled IE7 insread & went back to IE6. Since then no problems.
Hope this helps someone.

I had no trouble at all installing or using IE 7, but I don't use Norton. My
experience with Norton is that it is a creator of problems, not a preventer.
I suggest you try the AVG Free Version from Grisoft. It is a great
anti-virus program and it is not intrusive.

Also, a good adware program is Ad-Aware SE from Lavasoft. It is free as
well.

By the way, if you did not shut Norton down during your attempt to install
IE 7, that may have contributed to the problems you encountered. The
Microsoft IE 7 download screen has a precautionary note advising users to
shut down programs running in the background, including anti-virus programs.

To Papa{Thanks for the info. I did disable Norton to install IE7,but I still have some time remaining on my subscription so I'm not going to dump it now. I've heard a lot of good things about AVG & may go to it later. I have had Ad-Aware for some time & check it regularly.
