c:\program files\Network Associ... a file called DEERHNT.IFA. It is a

Does anyone know if this file is needed and what does it do??

Network Associates makes McAfee products. Do you have any McAfee programs
installed? However, a Google for DEERHNT.IFA produced no hits. I don't have
any McAfee programs on any of my Windows machines so I can't check for you.

Send a copy of DEERHNT.IFA to Virus Total to see what comes back.

Include scans with Multi_AV and Ewido.

Whay are you saying it is a Microsoft file? If it is in Network Associates
path, it is more likely something dealing with McAfee or such.
