For example...

I log onto an account on the web. It used to be that the next time I logged
on my username would still be there, now it is not.

Hi

Open Internet Explorer and select Tools/Internet Options/ Content Tab. In the Autocomplete section, click the Settings Button. Place a check mark in the last 2 options there. OK/Apply/OK.

OK, I did that. This is really a problem of my co-workers. What he is used to
is logging onto a site and having the username already fully appearing. Now
it seems that the "username" box is blank, however, if you click in or begin
typing the username it autocompletes.

So I think your explanantion answers the question.

Thanks.

Different websites have this set up in different ways. The website author can programmatically change the way the login functions. Cookies also play a part in this function. If you have cookies restricted, then this can restrict what information automatically appears when you log in to a website.
