I am getting this error message when I try to start several recently
installed programs. This began to occur after a Windows XP re-install. How can I get these programs to start up correctly?? |

Please post a complete copy of the Error Report from Event Viewer. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer. -- Hope this helps. Application popup: lxbkaiox.exe relates to a Lexmark printer. Application popup: qw.exe relates to a Quicken product. What is the status of each on your computer. If one or both have been uninstalled use Autoruns to safely remove the StartUp items. Otherwise the solution is to uninstall and reinstall through Add / Remove Programs. A safer way than msconfig to disable / remove unwanted start up items is to use Autoruns. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx With Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it from starting, or you can can right click an item and then delete it. If you uncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much safer approach than editing the Registry. Another useful feature of the programme is that you can right click an item and select Search Online to get information about the item selected. -- Hope this helps. The lexmark printer function is working fine, but the scanner function is what fails. This product has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. The version of quicken that fails has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but still doesn't work. The previous version works fine when reinstalled. I will try your Autoruns suggestion when I get back to the computer this evening. Thanks. Kenn "Gerry" wrote: Kenn Application popup: lxbkaiox.exe relates to a Lexmark printer.
