Default No internet connection on primary partition

Running Windows XP, SP2. Right after scanning for spyware, removing
and rebooting, my computer refused to obtain an IP address, and I
couldn't get connected no matter what I tried.

I tried doing a windows repair, resetting the BIOS, deleting HOSTS
file, reinstalling the network card driver. Nothing is working. I
installed XP on a new partition and it works fine here. I probably
could do a fresh install and move all my documents, but I'm really
curious what the culprit could be, so I wanna isolate and troubleshoot
it.

I just don't ****ing understand how the problem could persist after a
Windows repair, because all the system files are reinstalled and
replaced, so what could it be?

What other areas should I try troubleshooting?

Thanks.

You could try the IP reset routine. Or the winsock fix. Both have lots
of info on the web.

You don't even read my post and the aforementioned winsock reset
attempt above which I clearly stated solved nothing, and you have the
nerve to not only repeat the same ****ing thing James said, but to
tell me to google search for a short CMD command that could fit my
cell phone screen?

You sir are a vapid piece of ****. Migrate your fat ****-face out of
my sight.
