Today's update (Win 10 Pro) broke wireless everything
Is it just me, or is 10 becoming more unstable? MS pushed a security
update today that seems to have broken some things. My wireless mouse has quit. I have several, with different USB receivers, and they've all stopped working. The system doesn't acknlowedge my plugging in the receiver dongles at all. My USB3 hub seems to be completely dead now. A USB keyboard jacked into a mobo usb port is ok, but that's about all. Color me pis'd off; after 20 years one would think that Necrosoft could get it right. I spent a career with a very different computer giant and they had their share of issues, but never such poor quality as has been the *only* deliverable from Redmond since forever. :-( |

Did you yet go into Device Management to check if your USB devices are still working (no yellow exclamation marks)? Have you yet done a full shutdown and cold booted your computer? Did you unplug all USB devices (use wired mouse and wired keyboard to USB ports, not wireless), cold booted, and retest? |

If I leave Device Manager open and unplug/replug one of the Logitech receivers I can see it disappear and reappear as an attached USB device, but it still doesn't seem to get recognized. Have you yet done a full shutdown and cold booted your computer? Yes Did you unplug all USB devices (use wired mouse and wired keyboard to USB ports, not wireless), cold booted, and retest? I did and nothing changed. I finally rolled back the update and now everything's working again. Grrr. |
