How can we kill the network the moment the VPN drops?
Do you have a simple way to kill the network the moment the VPN drops?
For whatever reason, from time to time, the VPN drops while I'm doing something (for example, bit torrenting). It's not super time critical but it would be nice if there was a SIMPLE Windows trick to check for the VPN connection every, say, 30 seconds, and, if the connection drops, to disable the network adapter. I don't expect anyone to write this for me, so I just ask for ideas, and if anyone has ALREADY solved this problem, to let me know what works for them. Usually we solve all problems with native Windows solutions; but this one, I fear, may be too difficult to solve if a solution doesn't already exist because I don't have the coding skills to write the program that I can see is needed. But maybe someone knows of an existing method, using native Windows tools, that disables the network adapter within 30 seconds of the VPN connection dropping? |

: OpenVPN has a kill setting, which immediately drops the connection if the VPN goes clear and Im sure other VPN router clients can do a similar thing probably? C+ VyperVPN does the same. As soon as it disconnects, it shuts off the network adaptor, and only brings it up again when VyperVPN reconnects. I haven't checked into it enough to determine what happens if VyperVPN itself goes away after disconnecting. |
