I never made a bet on a horse, and never bought a lottery ticket. But I once won $5 with a lottery ticket. The ticket was the only lottery ticket I've ever had; it was a Christmas gift from the mother of one of my students. So I'm $5 ahead on lotteries--probably much further ahead than most people who have bought them. |

The only person I know who won a fair amount of money was a friend who really didn't need it. My uncle knew someone who won a million dollars and it ruined his life. He thought the money would last forever and let his business fail.| The million dollars soon ran out. |
