Default Should I upgrade to IE7 or IE8

I am using Window XPSp3 and IE6 Sp3 on my machine. I want to
know if should I upgrade to IE7 or go to the latest version of IE8? Is
there anything I need to know before the upgrade process or issues that I
need to be aware of?

Keep me posted

Keep you posted? heh

Put IE7 on there, get used to things - then decide later if you want to go
IE8 for a bit more security.

Tried Firefox?

No.

I find it messes-up running of apps from server shares.

Seems to change the OS in such a way that any app not in C: is regarded as
being downloaded from the Internet.

Is there any particular reason you 8want* IE7 or IE8? If not, why
install new software on your computer, with the attendant risks of
unexpected side effects?

I can understand getting a later version of something for new
features, but I've never understood the desire to get a later version
simply because it *is* a later version.

That's easy. Upgrade to IE 8. Not only does it provide you with
up-to-date features (that every other web browser has), IE 8 is
substantially safer than IE 6. In fact, IE 6 is a definite security hazard.

Whether or not you will have trouble with the upgrade depends entirely
on how conscientious a computer user you are. If you're the type who
prepares carefully in advance - as you should for any major software
upgrade - your experience will be a walk in the park. There's plenty of
great stuff in IE 8, and also some things about it that suck, but one
thing you can be assured: You won't have any problems getting it to work
properly.

On the other hand, if you're like some people who post here, who do
/not/ prepare in advance, and who don't spend the time to learn how to
use their computers wisely, you're an accident waiting to happen,
whether it's Internet Explorer or some other software.

Thanks to all the responses to my question on upgrade to IE7 or IE8. I am
going to go to IE8 since it has more enhancements and better fixed that IE7.

Thanks to all the help and guidance.

Go to IE8.

Is
