****, I even posted ads for hosting companies that offered
LIFETIME hosting. Pay once, unless you cancel, it's forever. Usually
when they are startups, they need the cash for the hardware.

The renewal is automated. You can only take a site down if it
hosts malware, and aumhahahaha DOES NOT.

Remember what Windows was like ? You bought it, it was yours
forever. Now they rent it.

"How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison replied, "I
didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with
1,000 steps."

He also electrocuted cats, dogs, an elephant or two, and invented
the electric chair in his 'fight' against AC. Those are details
not typically covered in history books during grade school though.
Most people know him as the father of the lightbulb.

... which is wrong. The 'Edison' carbon filament light bulb was
invented by someone working for him in his lab. The first working
carbon filament light bulb was in vented in England by Joseph
Swan.

That's still a matter of debate. One of which I have no personal
interest in.

Joseph Swan proved his case in the English courts. That's where
'Ediswan' came from.

Hmm. Most of his previous dropbox links didn't do that. I'm not a user
of dropbox myself. Maybe their finally trying to turn it into a
subscription service outright then? Or, BD borked something with the
url. he's done that before.

Because it is *my* choice. Also I have a business with online
presence, it is counterproductive to hide the origin of a business.

Of course. :-)

Your web site passed these tests with flying colours!

https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results...orksstudio.com

https://aw-snap.info/file-viewer/?pr..._s el=ff&fs=1

That's 'cuz I know what I am doing.

I have never doubted that! :-)

BTS has a *personal* website, it performs a different function and
circumstance. If you stop a moment and employ a little contemplation
it should become clear...

BOTH of the tools shown above reported malware present on the site of
BTS. Here's the warning I received from my ISP when I followed the
'code'embedded on BTS's web site:-

https://www.dropbox.com/home/BT%20We...%202017 .tiff

Not going to install dropbox just to look at it. But if I recall it look

I may be at fault. I'm sorry. There should be no need to install
Dropbox. Can you see THIS image?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t55zf2k4ia...r.net.jpg?dl=0

He has since manipulated matters on his web site so that access to his
site is now restricted. Unlike you, there's "something of the night
about him"! ;-)

That's 'cuz he knows what he's doing.

I have no doubt about that! :-)

The question remains though, is he one of the good guys?!!!

If you see an 'overlay', just click the 'x' in the top right-hand corner

I didn't imagine the 'code' hidden on the Tekrider site! It *WAS* there!
It was *NOT* injected by BT's Web Protection facility, of that I am
99.99% certain.

Yes it is. BT's Web Protection must be real crapware. Known BTS for
about 20 years; good coder. His site as no malware, even juggernaut
Google's analysis indicates a clean site.

I do have another hobby, Jonathan - we've transited 11 locks today! :-)

I appreciate you responding. I'm going to suggest, though, that you
didn't actually read carefully the web site information to which BT gave
the warning. It was ...

www.windows-web-browsers.co.cc/alert/

That site is directly associated with the 'unknown code' which I
detected on BTS's web site. It was also noticed by Mike Easter.

If you know BTS well, and are confident that he's not a 'bad guy', ask
him to explain to YOU why the 'code' was found on his site.

It wasn't something which I simply 'dreamed up'.

No. That statement is not correct. I found that a harmless string of
characters including hxxp could be found in the page source using a web
sniffer configured to assume user-agent IE 6, if I recall. I believe I
also saw the string with a real XP + IE7.

Thank you for confirming that you DID see ..... *something*, something
which BTS denied was there. If HE didn't put it there, who did?

Btw, here's a copy of what I found:-

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulb

"In addressing the question of who invented the incandescent lamp,
historians Robert Friedel and Paul Israel[8] list 22 inventors of
incandescent lamps prior to Joseph Swan and Thomas Edison. They conclude
that Edison's version was able to outstrip the others because of a
combination of three factors: an effective incandescent material, a
higher vacuum than others were able to achieve (by use of the Sprengel
pump) and a high resistance that made power distribution from a
centralized source economically viable.

Historian Thomas Hughes has attributed Edison's success to his
development of an entire, integrated system of electric lighting.

The lamp was a small component in his system of electric lighting,
and no more critical to its effective functioning than the Edison Jumbo
generator, the Edison main and feeder, and the parallel-distribution
system. Other inventors with generators and incandescent lamps, and with
comparable ingenuity and excellence, have long been forgotten because
their creators did not preside over their introduction in a system of
lighting.
—?Thomas P. Hughes, In Technology at the Turning Point, edited by
W. B. Pickett[9][10]"

IMO that's definitive.

Quite right. Merely inventing and patenting a carbon filament bulb
does not create a viable lighting system. But Swan's patent predated
Edison's.
