[FoxNews] Password manager LastPass promises to be the last line ofdefense against hackers
Full story: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2017/07/14/password-manager-lastpass-promises-to-be-last-line-defense-against-hackers.html Online account hacking is a growing problem — and you may be making it worse. According to an online survey of more than 1,000 U.S. consumers, 59 percent said they used the same password across all their accounts, making them easy pickings for programs that can test more than 100 million passwords a second, looking for one that works with a stolen username. If you use the same password for all your accounts, that’s the only one a hacker needs to get into everything. The solution, of course, is to have a different username and password for every online account. But that’s easier said than done, because keeping track of them all is nearly impossible. LastPass — the company that conducted the opt-in survey — believes it has the solution: a password manager that allows users to store all their password information in one place and seal it in an encrypted vault. Using a single password — the only one you have to memorize — you can access all your accounts with just a few clicks. .... more .... -- @~@ Remain silent! Drink, Blink, Stretch! He/She also now has a second way in (hard though I hope it is) - to hack into this "one place". (But the rewards are great - access to lots of password lists.) Online account hacking is a growing problem — and you may be making it worse. Paedophiles like Roy Tremblay aka Lionel Muller are making it worse. What we need is Chinese style justice so that all paedophiles are executed without trial. Chinese don't tolerate anybody. Even their Nobel Price winner was denied medical treatment despite American doctors were prepared to treat him free of charge. Hong Kong has seen 20 years of Chinese rule and they are very happy now that paedophilia is almost non-existent officially. -- With over 500 million devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |

Lastpass isn't a bad choice, but my personal favorite is Enpass. |
