Looks like Windows Sandbox will be coming to Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise
starting with build 18305.

Have you got an unused Win7 or Win8 Pro machine collecting dust anywhere?

Actually I do. I was not using it since it was what upgraded my old
laptop to 10, but I got a new one about 10 months ago and that old one
died so the license is available. Thanks. Didn't think of that, and I
think I know where you're going.

My work laptop has Win10 Pro, this play laptop came with Win10 Home, but
I have an old Dell desktop which now runs linux, but still had a
readable Win7 Pro licence sticker.

Changing product key and re-activating this machine from Home to Pro
worked like a charm.
