Hope you never get bitten with a false positive. Malwarebytes has had two
really bad ones that killed Windows.

That setting to Automatically quarantine detected malware is really
stupid and will bite you in the ass someday. The trouble is that people
install any program before they know what the **** they are doing.

Install a registry cleaner ( not Ccleaner) and let it do it's thing. Then
come here and bitch about something that doesn't work.

It also helps that you don't own a computer, so your only access is when
someone forgets to lock the office in the mall where you work. I'm not sure
that you'd have the same good fortune if you had a computer at home.

All these people who proudly state they've never gotten an infection
without using any security software are either unaware of how lucky
they're been or are lying. Or perhaps are unaware of what infection(s)
they've gotten.

Also ken i know many others who have gone years with out any malware or
viruses on his or her systems.
its called being a smart user .
don't do stupid things or click on links in spam emails or go to sites you
don't know about or aren't sure about.
it's called COMMON SENSE but to days got to be in constant contact
generation doesn't care about being smart they just want instant
gradafaction and does take the time to get a good av program and malware
program on the system.
I see systems all the time that come in to my store with no av or malware
programs on it and the ones that you have to PAY for are long since expired.
BECAUSE the to day generation wants it for FREE I have to (PAY) I can get
this or that for free I hear it daily.
my motto is you get what you pay for free stuff is free for a reason for
those to cheap to pay for a good program.

The focus here is supposed to be whether Malwarebytes is effective
or not, you seem to claim it's dangerous, but how?

The program it self works very nicely if you have the real time scanning
turned on with all the options checked and know how to add the now and then
false positive to the ignore in future scans list.
like any program you have to tweak it and once its dialed in it works very
well.
it gets recommended monthly in many pc magazines and is installed as the
free version on all systems I sell build and service with the clients option
to remove it if not wanted.

I'm calling BS. Years ago when I was using McAfee SiteAdvisor I clicked
on a green site and got hit with ransomware. Now I use WOT, but nothing
is a 100% guarantee.

That is a crock i know many uses who run more then one you just don't run
them at the same time shows how little experience you have read my signature
I have been a A++ tech for 25 years and build sell service and consult for
computers owners and buyers.
I have done many things the idiot techs you see at geek squad ect say you
cant do this or cant do that.
Just like back in the day when my self and 200 others were beta testing road
runner high speed online for time warner cable, we wrote the book on it in
the state of Maine.
and a tech said you cannot have 2 or 3 browsers on you're system and have
each set up to use a different ISP for each one .
I had one set to use road runner and the other to use my dial up back up
ISP.
I said get a cup of coffee and ill show you how its done.
I then became the head tech for the team and got many awards for the stuff i
taught them that the time warner techs said you cant do this its not in our
books.
Knowledge is power
Lean it use it

You are only supposed to run one AV program on your computer
