thumbs.db
I have turned off the option to store thumbnails in thumbs.db-files on my
computer. I have also turned off hiding of hidden and system files. However, I have some leftover thumbs.db files laying around, and I want to remove these. When I enter a directory with a thumbs.db file using explorer I see the file and can delete it. But if I use the search tool to find all thumbs.db files on my computer, none are shown! I even tried entering the commandline and running 'dir /s thumbs.db', but not even one comes up even though I know for a fact that I have some of those laying around! 1) Why on earth does the search tool and the command line refuse to show these files, even when I disable hiding of hidden/system/protected files? 2) Are there any other files and folders I should be aware of that I cannot access or find? I know I can't access the System Volume Information directories. |
