Default Computer Boots-up due to moving the mouse after shutdowm - Why ?

I installed new wireless mouse and keyboard, with wireless receiver that
plugs into a USB port.
During install Windows XP recognised the USB device and installed the
necessary driver etc - Keyboard & mouse works good.

BUT ... Now after full windows shutdown, the computer will boot-up by simply
moving the mouse by the smallest amount.
A key press or mouse click will have the same effect.
I understand the difference between Shutdown, Suspend, Hibernate, and
Standby but this mouse movement induced Boot up problem occurs after a full
Shutdown.

No software disc came with the new keyboard & mouse so there is no other
software involved.

Any ideas why this might be happening and how to stop it ?
Thanks
