Default Error message when saving files to network drive

We get the following error message when save Corel 11
files to the network Drive:

"Unable to save file, the file is open somewhere else.
Please change the filename or close the open file first."

Then when we try to save as a different name, the file is
corrupted and useless.

Any help? I have tried the knowledge base and found two
articles and one isn't pertinent. I am going to try
update to sp1a and see what happens. The Corel guy said
that he thinks it has to do with the *smb.sys file.

If you have had this experience please fill me in. Or at
least we can commiserate.

Joe
