Default Could not browse from network???

if you can access remote computer by ip but not name, this is possible name
resolution issue. what kind OS do you have in your network? if you have
correct tcp/ip settings, you should be able to ping your computer from
others. do you use NetBEUI also?

hi!

i had a problems for my windows xp home
editions.Currently i had installed the pci network card
and can be functioning very well.Normally when we
installed the network card it will auto-detect and
installed by itself but this happenned when i already
inserts the ip address, subnet and gateway then i go to
network neighborhood but i couldn't browse for others
workgroup? But the weird thing is i can ping other users
and it shows a reply from the users but the user cannot
ping my pc ??? When I go to START and select RUN and i
key in the user pc name it will show the share name
could not be found and make sure you type it correctly!!
But i used the same procedure and i just key in the user
ip address and i can log into the network?? Can you tell
me why this thing happpened and is there anything related
to the network setting??
