Default Creating Clips

I apologize I accidentally sent off an unfinished message.

When capturing video there are 2 main choices:

1. Best quality for playback (recommended)
2. Digital device format (DV-AV)

I have downloaded video using both methods.

The first creates numerous user friendly clips for
editing but the quality when recording back to tape is
very poor.

When using the DV-AV method the quality is supposed to be
maintained, which is what I want, BUT no clips are
created!! The result is a 'beginning-to-end', 10 GB clip.

I don't change any settings when using either format
except for the Video Setting from 'Recommended' to 'DV-
AV'.

I have tried capturing many times; importing, using
the 'create clips' function as well as ensuring
the 'create clips' box IS checked but it always remains
as one very large clip.

Is there something that I am doing wrong? Please help.
This is getting very frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you are capturing an analog tape from a digital camcorder.
MM2 assumes that a tape in a digital camcorder being captured to DV-AVI
format has timecode info and looks at that for scene change info. For those
captures, you have to do the clip splitting manually.

Seems like you're not doing anything wrong.
