Default new notebook doesn't show video on exernal monitor

Hi,

I just got a new Toshiba Satellite 2450 (I'm in canada) and I have one
slight annoyance.

The video area of the screen doesnt' show up on an external projector.

I tried at multiple resolutions and bit depth. I tried MediaPlayer 9 and
mplayer2.exe (MP6.4?)

I can see everything else but the video.

The pc is equipped with a gForce 4 420 and has driver version 36.48.

I can see the video on the external monitor if I I select the full screen
option in the gForce options.

What I want is just the normal screen with the video.

Can anyone help me?

Regards,
Raymond
