Default movie maker wizard doesn't work

my system is windows xp, home. i have made several videos
with movie maker but i have been unable to burn them to a
cd. the wizard never appears. instead i get a message
that states no available cd can be found, or something to
that effect. the cd-r media are good as i have gone ahead
and burned music onto them. but movie maker doesn't want
to burn. i'm currently stuck with watching the videos on
my computer and cannot share tham with friends via cd-r.
i tried to download movie maker 2.1 but couldn't, perhaps
it's because i don't have sp2 for xp.
what should i do?

Can you not use your third party software to burn the WMV or AVI file to the
CD?

WindowsMovieMaker 2 is no longer available.... WindowsMovieMaker 2.1 comes
as part of SP2.
