Thanks for any answer.

AutoRuns (Big Al) does it Probably the best way. Just uncheck,
do not delete. Not on Win 8 right now, but I think it's the
same as Win 7 where you right click on Startup and can select
all users or single user. If the program starts from the
registry, AutoRuns is the only way to stop it.

I would just go to the Registry and make the edits there.

Me too, but I don't recommend that to my friends, only to my
enemies.

OK, that's obviously an exaggeration, but it's really not a method
for Everyman.

I DID NOT POST THAT

"I would just go to the Registry and make the edits there"
We got a ****ing asshole around.

I can't make sense of your complaint.

My reply was to Char Jackson, not to you. Char, neither you nor me,
is the one who said that about editing the registry, and I, neither
you nor Char, made the remark about Everyman. No one is saying that
you posted either of those remarks.

BTW, both Char and I can handle sarcasm or criticism with much more
grace than you are showing.

Also: I have no idea who you think is a sphincter.

Maybe I don't care.

From the headers, it looks like the post I'm replying to is actually
from you, but if I'm wrong and you've been spoofed, by all means let
us know.

What just happened? :-)

Even after reading Ken1943's reply, I still don't know.

But Ken1943 says he's just been through a very bad patch, so I'm going
to back off bugging him.

There is an excellent Start Manager module in the Advanced Uninstaller
PRO suite (Uninstaller PRO is now free). You can view a picture at
http://tinypic.com/r/2ebdgee/8

Although I normally run MailWasherPro at startup, in this example I
"disabled" MailWasherPro and re-booted my PC. As expected, MailWasher
did not run but you can see from the picture that all I have to do is
"Enable" the program and it will run at the next startup.

Understood and agreed.

To Ken1943, sorry to hear it.
