Can't connect to DSL on Belkin F5D7230-4
I also have the new Belkin 54g Wireless Router and have been having
problems with it. I spent about 70 minutes on the phone with tech support last night. First, my setup: Verizon DSL with Westell modem, Belkin 54g Wireless Router, Windows XP OS. The problem is that I will run fine for several days, and then I won't be able to connect online. I did the firmware update last week, and that corrected the problem for several days, and then I had a dropped internet connection again yesterday. Tech support had me change a setting for the connection speed (sorry, I'm a networking newbie and I can't remember exactly which setting, but I think it was a change from auto-detect to 10mbps). He then had me re-update the firmware, but not without problems. I had to manually reset the router several times before I was finally able to do the reupdate. Once I was able to do that, it works fine. The tech support guy I talked to was great--very patient and answered any questions I had along the way. I expected problems since this is a new technology, and the standard isn't ratified yet (in effect, I'm beta testing). In a way, it's good for me, because it gives me a chance to learn how the networking works, although it can be a PIA. Jeff "Leroy Lockwood" wrote in message igy.com... I just upgraded(?) from Belkin F5D6230-3 to the F5D7230-4 Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway Router (54g). Everything works fine except it does not login to DSL. All settings are identical to the F5D6230-3. The "connected" light keeps on blinking, which tells me that it is trying to connect. When I replace it with the F5D6230-3, it connects right up. So far no word from Belkin Tech Support. Since this is not a networking issue, I don't think it is a setup problem with my PC but: WINXP PRO (SP-2), Westell WireSpeed MODEM. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Thanks for your help. Leroy |

Can't connect to DSL on Belkin F5D7230-4
The first thing I would look for is if there is a setting somewhere between
the Modem and your PC that tells your connection to sleep after x amount of time. "Jeff" wrote in message om... I also have the new Belkin 54g Wireless Router and have been having problems with it.
