Greetings Charlie,

If you mean MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger, you can just uninstall it from Add or
Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

If you mean Windows Messenger (which comes with Windows XP), you can remove it by clicking
the Start again, then Run and copy/paste the following:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, check

Hi,

Which indicates to me that you're probably using MSN Explorer. Unfortunately Messenger is a
key part of MSN Explorer and cannot run without it.
