Greetings DW,

To stop this from happening, first remove this saved Passport by clicking the Start Button,
then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your
account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my
Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and
click 'Remove'.

Then open up Messenger (you'll find it under the start menu under either Windows Messenger or
MSN Messenger, depending on what's installed -- if both are, you'll need to disable both),
click the Tools menu, then Options, then Preferences tab (or General tab depending on
version), uncheck 'Run this program when Windows starts', 'Run Windows Messenger when Windows
starts' or 'Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows' (again, depending on
version) and click OK.

I don't have any of these options. I have messenger
version 4.7.0041. I want it to go away, stay away and
quit asking me to upgrade...HOW?

Hi,

If the option isn't showing up, then you'll need to install the latest version of Messenger
he
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/messenger/download.asp

and then disable it using that method.

Hi,

Restart or right-click on the icon and choose Exit (whichever you prefer).
