Default "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" selected in Windows Update

Something to watch out for if you don't want to upgrade to Windows 10
just yet...

My system: Windows 8.1 Pro
I have not yet reserved my Windows 10 upgrade

In Windows Update's "Optional" tab, there is an optional update
"Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro". Unlike other optional updates, this
one is automatically selected.

If you only look at the "Important" tab before clicking install, you
may get an update you were not expecting.

Most of us folks in the Windows 10 newsgroup already... ohh, nevermind.

It's quite possible to be interested in Windows 10 yet to not want to
upgrade yet.

I am such a person. I do not want to upgrade until I know everything I
use is compatible with Windows 10. At present there are still several
things that don't work right in Windows 10.

There are three kinds of folks in the Windows 10 newsgroup:

1. Those who are interested in Win 10 and come here for
information, but who have not upgraded yet.

2. Those who upgraded to Windows 10 after it was released.

3. Those who have been running Win 10 beta (Insider) builds
starting before Win 10 was released.

I am posting for those in #1, and also for those like me who are
in #3 and have another machine which has not yet been upgraded.

I have been in this group since it was started. I have been
running Win 10 beta (Insider) builds before this group was
started.

Understood but you could be interesting in multiple operating systems,
gardening, car repair, and politics and a community doesn't want to see
unrelated posts showing up in their newsgroup. Shotgunning across
multiple newsgroups for a post that is off-topic to some is you
attempting to garner a larger audience at the nuisance of the off-topic
communities. Stay on-topic. What you remarked about is a Windows 8
issue so it should have been posted in the Windows 8 newsgroup.
Obviously it is not an issue with Windows 10.

Do you really have nothing better to do than harass people about that?
The OP's post was related to both Windows 8.x and Windows 10. It was
crossposted to the two newsgroups about the two versions. Where's the
damn fire?

Joel,

Most people just ignore VanguardLH, following that example might be
something to consider, just a suggestion.

This might not be a good idea because the guy must be a loner and if you
keep ignoring him, he might commit serious crimes like killing somebody
or raping a 13 year old boy or girl. These loners needs treatment and
by engaging with them you are keeping them away from our streets.
