How to remove hidden updates in Win 7 pro
I have some Windows updates hidden. (mainly drivers which I always get
and update myself from the providers home website). I do not let MS install drivers for other manufactures equipment as it can cause too much trouble. Question is this -- How do I get rid of these hidden optional updates. Four more have been added recently with these mysterious INTEL updates. Just like to do some housekeeping. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maurice Helwig ~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

I have a large number of hidden updates that I never downloaded. For them, all I have is a flag that indicates they are hidden. This means that they no longer appear in Windows Update and thus will not download or install. -- David E. Ross The Crimea is Putin's Sudetenland. The Ukraine will be Putin's Czechoslovakia. You can only hide updates in the list. You cannot delete them (which, if you could, would mean they would show up as newly available when you next ran the WU client). Hiding them keeps them hidden thereafter - UNTIL Microsoft comes up with a newer version of the same update. When you hide an update, you only hide THAT specific version of the update. If a new version of the update becomes available, well, you aren't hiding THAT specific new version so it appears in the available list. |
