Trying to install the newest WL Messenger over and earlier build and when it
starts to run I get the error code. Any ideas? I've searched and can't find
any good results.

I have been having the same problem, and I can't find any help either.
It seems to me that this is a known problem, but MS doesn't seem willing to
fix it or offer a solution that will fix it. I've tried all of their
suggestions, but none of them work, and one suggestion is too technical for
me.
If I find a fix I'll post it here.
Good luck.

I have been posting questions in here, but they are not appearing. I did not
get notified by e-mail regarding my reply to your question either.
I received e-mail notification that I had a reply to my question in this
Discussion Group, but when I go here, it is not here.
The latest entry in here is about a week ago.
What's going on?
Bob

I found out that I had the MSN protection on in my AVG anti-virus software,
thoujght it seems to happen with just the paid version. Just open the main
AVG interface, open the Web Shield component, click the instant messaging
tab, make sure the MSN protection is NOT checked. Save the changes. Restart
the computer and see if this helps.

That fixed it.
I wonder why MS is not aware of this?
Anyway, thank you.

This method does indeed work. Thanks. never would have guessed it was my AVG
8.0 because the problem arose after i put the computer into sleep mode for
30seconds.
