Default video color correction software

Converting older VHS tapes of family to DVD. Some tapes have become
darker with age, and now have "snow" in the video. Does anyone have
recommedations for free or "inexpensive" software to address this
issue?

Hello,

You have to start at the source. Software is very hard to fix this.

If the whole screen is black or snowy, either the tape is damaged or your
player heads are dirty. Clean the heads and try again. Use at least a 4 head
VCR, or a S-VHS player for better quality.

Hello Tompangbuddy.com:

Thank-you for your response. I'll use your suggestions, of course!

I was hoping someone would or could recommend some software that could
help with the color correction and or enhancement for a video, similar
to software use for individual digital images.

Cordially yours,

GENSIG

Hello TompangBuddy:

Adobe Premier, that's wonderful news. I think I have access to that
software.

Thank-you again for your most kind courtesy and assistance!

Cordially yours,

GENSIG
