Default strange color problem as limited user

I have this strange problem when printing from a limited user account in
win xp (pro), that is, I can not print in real black. The printer always
uses simulated black (from the color cartridge). This isn't application
dependent as I get the same effect whether printing from Office
applications or printing a Test Page from a printer properties page. (If
the color cartridge is removed, nothing is printed on paper.)

I don't have this problem if I log in with an administrator account and
I don't want to assign everybody else with administrative privileges.

Has anyone ever experience same problem and how do you solve it?
Thanks

Background info:
WinXP Pro (SP2 and SP3 - occurs in both systems)
Printers: HP Deskjets (3740 series and 3500 series - occurs in both
printers)

Black ink is nearly always supplemented by using color ink to make it appear
'blacker'. Check the blank ink cartridge and ensure it's got enough ink in
it. Replace it if necessary.

No, as stated in earlier post, the problem is not with the cartridges
themselves. administrator accounts print ok. only limited users have the
mentioned effect.

the problem is not less black in limited user, it's simply not black at
all (purplish color - simulated black and as mentioned, if color
cartridge is removed, nothing is printed). so in limited account, the
printer won't use the black cartridge at all.

again, admin accounts are ok (both black and color printing).

had tried uninstall and reinstall on the sp2 machine to no avail.
the sp3 machine is a freshly installed windows system and it has the
same problem.

i was guessing maybe a win update is the culprit but don't have another
computer to test clean original win xp without any service pack yet.

I think you have to check your setting of administrator account.
Because as u said, your problem is not with your ink or cartridges.
So please check it.
