WINDOWS LOGS - WARNINGS
Looking through the Event Viewer, Windows Logs (Application & Security), I
have many entries with Error or Warning beside them. Does anyone know if this is a problem, please, & if I should remove them? Many Thanks Gunga |

WINDOWS LOGS - WARNINGS
That depends on what they are. If the error is telling you that your
hard drive is falling apart - then worry. Do you have examples? Questor --- Looking through the Event Viewer, Windows Logs (Application& Security), I have many entries with Error or Warning beside them. Does anyone know if this is a problem, please,& if I should remove them? Many Thanks Gunga |

WINDOWS LOGS - WARNINGS
Thanks Questor.
I have messages such as: "Application C:\WINDOWS\System32\taskeng.exe cannot be restarted. Application SID does not match Conductor SID" "Servicing has required reboot to complete the operation of setting package into Install Requested state" "Your computer was not able to renew its address for the Network card with Network address ..." I guess I'm not sure whether every PC has similar issues which are unimportant, or whether there is a real issue herse. Many thanks Gunga "Questor" wrote: That depends on what they are. WINDOWS LOGS - WARNINGS
If you Google a simple 'taskeng.exe' there are hundreds of hits for this
executable. Look through some of the most likely ones and take action. Taskmanager will tell you if any of these instances of 'taskeng.exe' are running up excess CPU time. Many updates will require the rebooting of your computer. Some of them will cause the reboot procedure to hold for a while as the updates are actually installed/configured. During this time you will see a notice something like "Updating part 2 of 3" and a progress bar. Do NOT turn your computer off, but let the updates complete. You will see when your computer reboots. Depending on how you connect to the Internet, the 'unable to renew your IP address' error will appear if you haven't established a connection to either your DHCP server (usually in your router if you have one, or at your modem if not). Try resetting your router or modem. All of these errors pop up from time to time in almost everyone's computer. Once you get back up in operation you should run scans with your antivirus and antimalware software to ensure you don't have anything "funny" doing this to you. Questor --- Thanks Questor.
